The route from the Sea to the River offers endless possibilities to practice outdoor activities and sports, both individually and by taking advantage of the services of specialized companies. For hiking enthusiasts, the route connects different trails, both coastal and ascending volcanoes and mountains; hiking tours can be arranged in Costa Teguise. Road cyclists can enjoy, among many routes with a great variety of slopes, a Cycle Route of priority use for their sport. Mountain biking enthusiasts have tracks and trails available, including the Sea to River Route itself; it is advisable to avoid leaving them due to the fragility of the natural environment. In Costa Teguise there are several rental companies that also organize guided tours. Triathletes, marathon runners, trail runners, long distance swimmers will find here the ideal environment for training and important annual competitions. All these activities are also offered for people with reduced mobility and special needs. Along the eastern coast of the municipality there are several options for advanced shore or boat diving. The island of La Graciosa, with neighboring Alegranza, is a true underwater paradise: the protected waters of the Marine Reserve offer an incredible fauna, including angel sharks, groupers and rays, ancient coral formations as in Las Gerardias, and even archaeological remains.
